Our reviews are unique. Most review sites only review based on generic things like performance and display, and while it's good to talk about that, there's still a lot more to discuss. So we designed a new review format, one that includes the most important generic qualities as well as the most common tablet uses, such as Gaming, Media, and Social. We've rated each section on a scale of 1-10. Without further ado, here is a brief explanation on each of the sections in our reviews.
Design
Dunno about you, but we appreciate a tablet with a good solid design and well thought out button placements. Here we talk about materials and build quality, as well as buttons, ports, speaker or camera placement, and any other important physical aspects to the device.
Display
Perhaps the most important part of a tablet is its display. We’ll talk about the overall quality of the display, including brightness, color saturation, and pixel density (basically, the more pixels there are, the sharper the display is, making it easier on the eyes, and improving the overall experience).
Battery Life
Simply put, if you run out of battery, you run out of fun. How long can you go without having to go connect your tablet to some wall? We’ll give you a good idea of how long the battery will last. After all, it is what keeps the fun coming.
User Interface
Too confusing? Too simple? All user interfaces have their pros and cons, we’ll highlight the important features and details to help you decide which path you'll take in the epic operating system debate.
Web Browsing
Browsing the web has always been one of the most incredible aspects of any tablet really. It's like holding a book, only... it's the internet. Because the web browsing experience is such an amazing part of tablets, we really appreciate it when it’s done well. We’ll review the experience, including any noteworthy features that set the tablet out from the crowd.
Social
Video Chat? Email? Facebook? Twitter? Google+? You name it, the latest mobile operating systems have been doing their best to bring all sorts of social integrations onto your mobile devices, so you can stay in touch with your friends more conveniently. These integrations find their ways into tablets as well. We’ll talk about the different social experiences that the tablet delivers.
Gaming
Let’s face it, tablets are fun. One of the best ways to tap into that funness is heading to the tablet’s app market and downloading a game or two, but how will the tablet do? Will it lag or run smooth as butter? Will the graphics be amazing or a letdown? We’ll do our best to review the gaming experience for you, whether you’re a pro or a pig-killer... or a pro-pig-killer.
Media
Books, movies, music, however you want to entertain yourself with your tablet, we’ll let you know what it will be like. We’ll also talk about the camera here, so you’ll know what kind of photos you’ll be able to snap from your tablet, if any.
